About GATE Examination
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is a national-level examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). GATE tests the comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science.
GATE scores are used for admissions to postgraduate programs (Master's and Doctoral) in Indian higher education institutes, and for recruitment by several Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and other organizations.
